Just a week later and already a noticeable difference. I was shocked to see the little yellow crocus blooms saturday morning. Spring is on it's way!
This weekend has been so nice. Nearly 70 degrees and sunny with a slight breeze. perrrfectt.
I was outside all day yesterday. Cutting back the old dead growth and branches damaged by winter and the several snowfalls we had. I was surprised to see some things hadn't been totally destroyed and are starting to wake up and turn green. Let's hear it for an excellent mulch job last fall! woo hoo!

So, my fall/winter vegetable garden wasn't doing so hot. Turns out the area of the yard that's full sun in summer is not so full come November. Combine that with a colder than normal winter and the broccoli plants were looking very sad. It was touch and go there for a while after a bad ice storm we had in January and several small snowfalls. The vegetables have really started to grow this past week. The temps got into the sixties and there has been a noticeable change in daylight hours. Think we'll have broccoli for dinner.
