Well, actually, two other pots were my Christmas present. (Shhh, don't tell, I exchanged them. )
It is my firm belief that you can't buy ceramics for another person. I should say, not a person in love with clay anyway. Before purchasing, a pot has to be picked up, turned over in the hand, the handle felt, the weight examined. A person has to fall in love; decide that life is not worth living without this pot. The pot becomes a source of inspiration. Suddenly, you have to get on the wheel, you have to make something out of clay or you will go insane!
It's sort of like how you want fall in love after watching a Nora Ephron movie.
I fell for this pot. Plain and simple.
