garden update

Whenever I see plants for sale, I cant help myself, I just have to take a look.  And then I usually even buy.  It's a problem I know....

Last week I picked up two columbines and a dark purple, almost black, petunia.  The columbines were marked down.  So, I may have an addiction but at least I'm thrifty!

I overwintered the mandevilla from last summer and it's doing great.  The vine has continued to climb, grow new leaves and even bloomed this week.

In addition to tomatoes, I'm also growing tomatillos.  I thought they'd be fun.  Their little paper bags have started to appear.  I'm hoping to bribe my favorite restaurant for their salsa verde recipe in exchange for some organic tomatillos.  I hope they comply with my pleas.
