is this my path?

Lately I've been thinking about not teaching anymore.  So far my teaching experience has been two positions at public high schools and some time at a pottery studio.  My stint at the pottery studio was wonderful.  I looooved teaching people how to throw.  It's what inspired me to get a job as a teacher.  I felt I was a good instructor and I enjoyed doing it.

However.  Public school is a completely different animal.  I would say 50% of my time is spent on discipline because of classroom behavior or documenting/ writing up , or phone calls to parents regarding their child's behavior.  This is my sixth year.  I'm pretty much over training other people's kids.  They simply don't have the basic classroom skills!  Students who sit quietly, listen to what the teacher is saying, being an active participant in the learning process is a rare find.  They are distracted easily by friends, their cell phones, anything.  They say they're bored when they haven't even made an attempt to engage themselves in the lesson.

Sigh...I don't really know what else I'll do.  I have several options and all of them would be part time gigs at best.  Nothing I can really rely on for a steady income.  However, at the same time, they could be quite fruitful but I can't see into the future, you know?  If I could?  Well, then I'd be working for the government making a shitload of money.
